Fair Camping Letter
Dear Fair Camper, You spoke and we listened. The Senior Fair Board is always looking for ways toi mprove your experience at the Jackson County Fair. We have been working diligently to improve camping during the fair. As you may have heard, we have active plans to expand the campgrounds beyond the current 96 spaces in the campground. The project is currently in the State-level approval stage. In the meantime and in preparation for the upcoming expansion, we have exciting news for you! The campsite acquisition process is changing for 2025! If you had a camp spot at the 2024 fair (registered in your name) you are eligible to renew that spot for the 2025 fair. In order for this process to work properly and transition smoothly, there are some rules and regulations that are expected to be followed. As compared to our Halloween Campout, your Fair Camping spot will be yours until you no longer camp at the fair. It will be renewed each year for the fair camping price set by the Board and to be paid by a deadline early in the year. (Hopefully this helps in budgeting with other fair expenses occurring closer to the fair). If you do not respond and/or renew your spot by the deadline, the spot is forfeited and will be offered to those on the waiting list. We look at this as a positive change for our fair families that will help with budgeting and relieve some stress of getting, or not getting, a camp spot for the fair. New 4H families will register to the waiting list and will fill in as older 4H families complete their fair eras and move on. One big thing to keep in mind is that spots WILL NOT BE PERMITTED TO BE SUBLEASED! If the spot is registered to you, YOU must be camping in it. This WILL be strictly enforced. Otherwise, the new method will not work properly. Along with this letter of announcement, you will find a list of camping rules, a contract, and details for payment and deadlines. Please direct any questions to me via phone (call or text) or via email (info below) or to Mike Farley at 740-418-8757. I am happy to answer your questions as we transition this year. Sincerely, Kevin Wilson
